Palamós

What to visit in Palamós?

Palamós is one of those places where you will never get bored. If you are looking for a campsite in Palamós for the upcoming holiday, you cannot leave without visiting:

  • Old town: the city dates back to 2100 BC. Thousands of years of history have passed through its streets, leaving traces of what Palamós was in the past.
  • Church of Santa María: built in 1417 on a chapel from 1349.

  • Capilla del Carmen: the old church of the hospital for the poor.

  • Barrio del Pedró: it is an old bourgeois neighbourhood with a deep Mediterranean culture.

  • Castle of Sant Esteve: You can see the ruins of a 13th century castle. Currently, only the bases of the towers and some walls are left.

  • Dolmen of Montagut: it is a monument from 2200 BC.

  • Fishing Museum: the sea is one of the most important aspects of the city and fishing has been playing a great part in its wealth. However, the sea also posed many dangers, as it gave access to pirates who constantly plundered the city. The Fishing Museum is unique in the whole Mediterranean and you can appreciate the past and present of fishing on the Costa Brava.

A holiday in Palamós can be unforgettable, as the city has a multitude of activities:

  • Beaches and coves: Palamós and its surroundings have, in addition to the beach, several delightful coves where you can enjoy the sun of the Costa Brava. Among them are La Fosca, Cala S'Alguer, Cala Estreta... All of them with an incredible natural wealth.

  • Gastronomy: Catalan gastronomy is one of the most prestigious and that is no surprise. When you come to Cala Gogo you will be able to discover it by yourself. In one of our restaurants or one of the many restaurants in town, you can taste delicious local dishes. You must try the famous Palamos prawns!

  • Water activities: In the harbour you will find a wide variety of leisure activities such as boat or water motor rental, kayaking, diving, etc.
