Stroll down the streets and discover the history of a town that, thanks to the courage of its population, managed to become one of the richest towns in the region. During the 18th century, many people from Lloret decided to go on sea and travel to America to make fortune. They were the Indians, who in Lloret de Mar were called Americans.
- Castell d'en Platja: Undoubtedly it is one of the most characteristic monuments in Lloret de Mar. It´s a building located at the edge of the sea and although it looks like a medieval fortification, it was actually built in 1940. Anyway, it is a place that you must visit and that you will love.
- Sea Museum: The museum is located in an old Indiana house, and was built during the 19th century. This museum serves as a reminder of a glorious past when Lloret de Mar became one of the richest towns in the region due to the incursions of its inhabitants towards the Indies.
- Casa Fonts: Dating from the 19th century and like many other houses in the centre of Lloret de Mar, it was built by one of those brave men who risked everything and left to return with fortune. His name was Nicolau Font and he managed to gain a foothold in the aristocracy of that time thanks to his investment in sugar plantations.
- Church of Sant Romà: This is another of Lloret de Mar's emblems. One of the most iconic parts is the Santísimo chapel, which is decorated with colour ceramics.
