Sustainable Holidays at Our Campsites: Nature, Community, and Future

At Grupo Sènia, nature is not just the landscape that surrounds us; it's the soul of everything we do.

From our very beginnings—long before sustainability became a trend—we made decisions with respect and protection of the environment in mind, enabling us to carry out our activities.
We installed solar panels, optimised water usage, and designed our spaces to integrate with the natural landscape, even before sustainable tourism was a topic of discussion. For us, caring for the environment isn't a trend; it's a deep and authentic commitment.

We understand that our visitors seek precisely this: a connection with nature, fresh air, and the untouched beauty of every corner.
Therefore, every action we undertake shares the same purpose: to preserve as best as possible what gives us life, inspires us, and what we wish to continue sharing with future generations.

Now more than ever, we continue working to offer you unforgettable holidays in harmony with the planet.

Our Commitment to the Environment

Caring for the environment has always been part of our identity.

Each Sènia campsite reflects a way of understanding tourism: as an opportunity to live in harmony with nature, reducing our impact and protecting what we value most.
That's why we implement real, visible, and continuous measures that allow us to preserve the natural wealth that makes our locations unique.

Through clean energy, responsible water management, circular economy, and respect for biodiversity, we work every day to offer you holidays where enjoyment and care go hand in hand.

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

  • We install solar panels for self-consumption, reducing our dependence on non-renewable sources.
  • We are progressively replacing conventional lighting with high-efficiency LED systems in accommodations, common areas, and outdoors.
  • We renew our equipment to ensure greater energy efficiency across all facilities.
  • We promote sustainable mobility with electric vehicles within our campsites, some of them thanks to the help of the Moves III program managed by the Catalan Energy Institute.

Responsible Water Management

  • We incorporate timed taps and low-flow diffusers in showers and sinks to optimise water consumption.
  • We use efficient irrigation systems that adapt to climatic needs and minimise waste.
  • We promote internal campaigns and initiatives for guests, encouraging conscious and responsible water use.

Recycling, Waste Reduction, and Circular Economy

  • We implement waste separation points in all common areas, facilitating the recycling of paper, packaging, glass, and organic waste.
  • We participate in recycling programmes for used oils, batteries, and special waste.
  • We are committed to the progressive elimination of single-use plastics in restaurants, shops, and events.
  • We reuse materials whenever possible in our maintenance works, promoting a culture of circular economy.

Sustainable Construction and Design

Respect for nature also guides how we design and renovate our spaces. Every detail in our campsites—from a path to an accommodation—aims to integrate into the landscape, minimise environmental impact, and offer an accessible environment for all.

We believe that sustainability begins with how we build the present to protect the future.

Landscape Integration and Sustainable Materials

  • We design accommodations and common areas to blend with the natural environment, respecting vegetation and terrain characteristics.
  • We opt for ecological and locally sourced construction materials, reducing our carbon footprint and supporting local economies.
  • We renovate our facilities with criteria of low visual impact and maximum efficiency.

Positive Social Impact

Sustainability also has a human face. Our commitment extends to the people who are part of our environment: collaborators, local suppliers, employees, and the communities that host us.
We want our social impact to be as positive as our environmental one.

Support for the Local Economy

  • We prioritise collaboration with local suppliers and producers, strengthening the economic fabric of our communities.
  • We incorporate zero-kilometre products in our restaurants and services, supporting more sustainable and authentic gastronomy.

Certifications and Recognitions

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond words: it is measured, evaluated, and recognised through international certifications.
These accreditations ensure that we follow a real and verifiable path towards more responsible tourism.

Biosphere Sustainable Tourism

All our campsites located in the province of Girona (Riu, Cala Gogo Internacional, Cala Canyelles and Tucan) received the Biosphere certification on 3 June 2025, valid for one year.

This certification acknowledges our active contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda. It requires regular assessments and a process of continuous improvement in all our environmental, social and economic practices.

Our campsites in the province of Barcelona (Caballo de Mar and Rupit) are currently undergoing audits to obtain the same certification later on, reflecting the shared commitment that drives all of us within the Sènia Group.

Sustainability is a shared effort. Every small gesture adds up and makes a difference. We invite you to actively participate in this commitment during your stay at our campsites.

Practical Tips for Being a Sustainable Guest:

  • Save water: Use water resources responsibly, take short showers, and reuse towels when possible.
  • Conserve energy: Turn off lights and electrical appliances when not in use.
  • Separate your waste correctly: You'll find differentiated containers in all our campsites.
  • Respect flora and fauna: Do not disturb the local ecosystem, stay on marked trails, and avoid bothering animals.
