On 12 August 2026, one of the most spectacular astronomical phenomena of the coming years will take place: a solar eclipse that will be visible from much of Europe, including the Costa Brava.
At Sènia campsites, we want to make the most of this unique occasion and experience it together. That’s why, during the days leading up to the eclipse, we are preparing special activities related to the sky, astronomy and eclipse observation.
A perfect opportunity to enjoy nature, learn something new and witness a moment that doesn’t happen every day.
A unique moment to look at the sky
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, partially or totally blocking it for a few minutes. It is an impressive spectacle that has fascinated humanity for centuries.
On 12 August 2026, the eclipse will be visible from Spain and is expected to be one of the most significant astronomical events of the decade in Europe.
Special activities at our campsites
During the days leading up to the eclipse, from 1 to 6 August, we have prepared a special programme of family activities taking place across Sènia campsites.
Have you ever held a meteorite in your hands?
You will be able to touch real rocks from space! These fragments will help us understand the origins of the Solar System, the formation of the Moon, the origins of life, comets and meteor showers.
Recommended age: 5 to 12 years.
Would you like to launch your own space rocket?
It may not make it into space, but you will be able to build your own rocket and launch it using the power of air and water, combining recycling and science.
Recommended age: 5 to 12 years.
Step inside our mobile planetarium and enjoy a unique and entertaining experience. Discover the Solar System and learn more about eclipses.
Recommended age: 3 years and over.
Price: €5 per person. The price includes all three activities.
Check the programme for each campsite and book your themed stay while spaces are still available. Once you have completed online check-in, download the Sènia app to book your place on the activities.
