1. Cap Roig Festival

To kick off our top 10, we present you one of Costa Brava’s most famous festivals: the Cap Roig Festival. This major pop music festival will celebrate its 24th edition in 2025, taking place across the 17 hectares of Cap Roig gardens and castle, offering festival-goers and artists a unique setting to enjoy the event. 

The Cap Roig Festival is scheduled from July 12th to August 19th, and as always, it will feature internationally renowned artists as well as local and national acts. In 2025, you might be lucky enough to see Simple Minds, Natalia Lafourcade, James Blunt, Lax'n'Busto, Amaral, Michael Bublé, Els Catarres, Joan Dausà, and more.

2. Catalan Rumba and Music Festival

3. Sons del Món

We’re staying in Alt Empordà for this music festival set in the heart of the region’s heritage. Indeed, Sons Del Món takes place not only at the Citadel of Roses but also at various cellars across the region. Featuring international, national, and regional artists, festival-goers will be able to enjoy concerts in July and August 2025, while having a glass of DO Empordà wine in the Village. 

In early July, a programme of events is held in local wineries across the region. Then, from 25th July to 10th August, the concerts take place at the Ciutadella de Roses.

The historic setting of the Citadel of Roses adds a unique dimension to each performance, creating a magical and unforgettable atmosphere. 4. La Santa Market

If you’re looking for a festival that combines gastronomy, music, art and fashion in a unique natural setting, La Santa Market is your must-visit summer event. Located in Santa Cristina d’Aro, this open-air festival has become one of the top summer attractions on the Costa Brava. Every evening, from 11th July to 31st August 2025, the Santa Cristina Horse Club venue transforms into a lively creative village that welcomes families, groups of friends and couples.

La Santa Market is not just a night market: it’s a space where you can discover emerging brands, independent designers, culinary delights for all preferences (including vegan, gluten-free and organic options), live performances and free concerts. The artistic programme is diverse and designed for all ages, with DJs, children’s workshops, exhibitions, roaming performances and a wellness area offering activities such as yoga and pilates.

Fancy visiting? Entry costs €6 from Sunday to Friday and €10 on Saturdays. Children under 12 can enter for free. Season passes are also available if you plan to visit more than once.

5. Temps de Flors in Girona

Although not celebrated in summer, the Girona Temps de Flors (or flower season) marks the beginning of the fine weather accompanying spring, transforming the city into a spectacular floral garden. Girona Temps de Flors is an annual festival held in the Barri Vell, the Old Town district of Girona. Since 1955, the capital of the province of the same name turns into an open-air museum where thousands of flowers are displayed. For one week, from 10th to 18th May 2025, marking its 70th edition, visitors will be able to stroll freely through the streets of Girona and admire the various exhibitions and scheduled activities.. 

During your visit, we recommend taking the opportunity to explore the city's monuments and museums. Indeed, some of them can be visited for free during Temps de Flors, such as the Girona History Museum and the Arab Baths

6. Cantada d’Havaneres

Now let's talk about one of the best-known events in Catalonia. The Cantada d’havaneres from Calella de Palafrugell is a habanera music festival held on the first Saturday of July. Created in 1966 after a gathering of singers in the Can Battle tavern, its success led to its annual renewal in the following years. Today, since 1969, the festival is celebrated in the Port Bo square and attracts thousands of visitors each year. 

The enchanting melodies of the habaneras, combined with the picturesque atmosphere of the village, create an unforgettable experience. You will also have the opportunity to taste the traditional "cremat," rum flambé with spices, while enjoying the concerts. 

The Cantada d’havaneres from Calella de Palafrugell, which has become a true institution, is not only a tribute to the maritime culture of the Costa Brava but also a moment of conviviality and sharing.

7. Diverland

Disco balls, glitz and glamour, flashy colours, and catchy music, who wouldn't dream of going back to the 80s and 90s? Diverland makes that dream come true. Diverland is the festival to celebrate the end of summer on the Costa Brava. From September 19th to 21st 2025, the festival will celebrate its 6th edition at Sènia Cala Gogo Internacional Campsite in Calonge. Created by the Catalan cover band "Di-Versiones," this festival themed around the 80s/90s will delight both children and adults, with activities and entertainment planned throughout the weekend

8. Vívid

Taking place in spring, when the days begin to lengthen and the fine weather arrives, Vívid is the must-attend event for all wine and gastronomy enthusiasts. Indeed, Vívid is the wine tourism festival not to be missed on the Costa Brava. Held in April in the Alt and Baix Empordà regions (in north-east Catalonia), you can take part in family workshops, wine tastings, concerts and guided tours of vineyards and wineries.

These wine and gastronomy journeys, designed to awaken the senses, take place not only in various vineyards but also in exceptional locations such as the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, the Tower of the Hours in Pals, and the Castle of Peralada, creating a unique experience.

9. Blanes Fireworks Competition

Every year during the second half of June, to celebrate the feast of Saint Anne, the town of Blanes organises its international fireworks competition. This year, it will take place from 24th until 27th of July 2025. From the beach of Sa Palomera and its islets, various teams showcase their creations for 20 minutes before the dazzled eyes of the spectators. An integral part of Blanes since 1970, the international fireworks competition has increased the town's reputation over the years.

The festivities attract visitors from all over the world, creating a vibrant and joyous atmosphere in the city prepared for the occasion. During the competition, each evening is an explosion of colours and lights, providing an unforgettable show for families and pyrotechnic enthusiasts alike.

Watching the fireworks display is of course free from the beaches or the town. However, for a more exceptional experience, you can see the fireworks from a boat on the sea.

10. Porta Ferrada Festival

To round off this top 10 summer festivals on the Costa Brava, head to Sant Feliu de Guíxols for the Porta Ferrada Festival, a historic event taking place in July and August. Located in the heart of this picturesque coastal village, this renowned festival annually welcomes world-famous artists in venues such as the church of Sant Feliu monastery, the city gardens, and the Auditorium Theatre.
