What would you say if I tell you that you can navigate through the old streets of an abandoned village within Barcelona?
The waters of the Sau reservoir have been flooding the streets of San Roman de Sau since 1962. When the water level drops, you can see the bell tower of the village and in times of drought you can even see the streets of the village.
It is an ideal getaway if you are staying at
Camping Sènia Rupit, as you will be only 20km from the Sau reservoir. You can choose to do a walking route around it, or go kayaking in the reservoir. The last option is our favorite as you can really appreciate the landscapes from another point of view, and you can even touch the bell tower with your hand.
If you prefer to go by foot, the reservoir is located at the foot of the impressive Guilleres Massif, surrounded by stunning vertical rocks that you can reach. From there you can contemplate the immensity of the mountains of Barcelona.
