Sant Joan Castle

This 11th century Fort was built to protect Lloret and its region from attackers coming from the sea.

It is located on a cliff between the main beach of Lloret and Fenals beach. From afar, although its tower stands out against the blue sky, it blends in with the rocks and its walls and trees.

The Castle of San Juan suffered several attacks throughout its existence. The most destructive one was a 14th century bombardment by the British Army. The Castle was restored several times In the twentieth century, today you can only see some of the vestiges of the original castle.

The restored tower and the signaled enclosure can be visited. You can acknowledge, apart from the historical value of the castle, the wonderful panoramic view that its privileged location offers.
