Dalmatia, a Charming Region
Dalmatia is a historic region situated on Croatia's Adriatic coast, known for its landscapes, rich cultural and historical heritage, and its islands and beaches. Spanning about 400 kilometres of coastline, this historical and geographical region covers an area of approximately 12,000 square kilometres. Dalmatia is bordered by the Adriatic Sea on one side and the Dinaric Alps on the other, offering a diverse geography that combines nature and crystal-clear waters. With its typical Mediterranean climate, Dalmatia enjoys warm, dry summers and rainy, cold winters, fostering lush flora and fauna. Its Adriatic coastline is sheltered from winds by imposing mountains, with bays adorned with Mediterranean scrub vegetation, making it an ideal tourist destination, especially for camping holidays.
Camping provides the best way to enjoy an idyllic setting between sea and mountains, whether in comfortable accommodation or your own tent. With its cultural richness, history, activities, and environment, we are confident that Dalmatia will delight the whole family.

We recommend:
- Explore Zadar: You can walk to the port and discover the Sea Organ, a work created by architect Nikola Basic. These are stairs that produce music thanks to the waves of the sea that come into contact with them. You can also see The Greeting to the Sun, another work by Nikola Basic located on the Riverside Promenade. It's a circle 22 metres in diameter and made up of about 300 photovoltaic cells that capture solar energy from the ground. This work allows you to enjoy a stunning spectacle of lights and colours.
- Enjoy Ugljan Island: Part of the Zadar archipelago, Ugljan is one of the most beautiful and visited spots in the country. The area is covered with lush vegetation and incredible bays. For campers who want to enjoy the beauty of nature, you can book your vacation at Camping Ugljan.
- Visit Šibenik: Famous for its impressive architecture, narrow streets, and above all for the Cathedral of St. James, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This cathedral has over 70 stone heads representing the city's most important citizens during its construction. It also serves as the gateway to some idyllic places. For example, you can visit the Kornati National Park.
What to See in Central Dalmatia?
Known for its cities and surroundings that combine nature and history, Central Dalmatia offers a paradise for those seeking an authentic and unique experience. Notably, it includes several islands such as Hvar, Brač, and Vis, where you can enjoy various activities and unforgettable surroundings.
If you're unsure what to visit, here's a list of the most interesting places:
- Explore Split: If you want to enjoy holidays in Split, you have to visit the majestic Diocletian's Palace, a monument of Roman architecture declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also, don't forget to take a walk to the city's museums dedicated to antiquity and the medieval period. You'll find Camping Stobreč Split, the closest camping site to the city, ideal for taking advantage of everything the city offers.
- The History of Trogir: Founded by the Greeks between the 3rd and 4th centuries BC, it's a fascinating destination with a rich history. History enthusiasts can enjoy the city's medieval old town and visit several fortifications, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings.
What to Visit in Southern Dalmatia?
Stretching to the border with Montenegro, this area seamlessly blends history, culture, and nature. It includes some of the country's most famous tourist destinations such as Dubrovnik and islands such as Korčula, Mljet, and Lastovo.
Here are our tips:
- Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic: The city offers stone beaches and crystal-clear waters. It's also an authentic city surrounded by impressive 10th-century walls, whose base dips into the sea and houses 16 towers offering unique views.
- Korčula Island: With dense forests and abundant vegetation on its hills, Korčula offers stunning landscapes. The golden sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters are ideal for swimming and relaxing. And for gastronomy lovers, this is where you'll find some of the country's best local olive oils.
